Career Pathways show students a direct connection between doing well in high school and being able to transition smoothly to postsecondary opportunities or getting a good job when they graduate. Students who focus on a Career Pathway acquire the skills necessary for entry into well-paid careers with high potential for rapid financial growth, increased levels of responsibility, and a high degree of personal satisfaction.

Utah Career Pathways align with and are categorized by the national Career Clusters®. Each Career Pathway culminates in an industry recognized credential of value. Go here to reference all  CTE Pathways in Utah

How to concentrate or complete a Pathway:

  • Exploration: Choose one or more exploration courses
  • Concentrator: To be a concentrator you must pass one concentrator course AND one explorer course.
  • Completer: To be a completer you must pass a concentrator course and enough courses to equal 3.0 credits in this pathway. (Note: credits do not have to include a completer course)

CTE Concentrators who pass one explorer course and one concentrator course may receive a certificate & an orange cord for graduation. CTE Completers who pass the concentrator class and receive at least 3.0 credits in the pathway may receive a Certificate, a double orange cord, & a pin for graduation.
